Emilio Pucci: What a fascinating man. As a young man, he was an avid and excellent sportsman, doing everything from tennis and swimming to racing cars. He received his Doctorate degree in Political Science, which helped pave the way in later years for his political seat in the Italian Liberal Party. He had been a Captain in the Italian Air Force, being awarded the medal for Valor. In terms of his fashion career, his first designs were for an American College ski team and with the knowledge he had gained, he went on to design ski clothes for friends. It was one of those friends that was photographed wearing his clothing and from there his fame quickly followed. At that point he retired from the Air Force and set up his first couture house.
Pucci's creations are well known for their unique, swirly patterns and very distinctive designs that are intended to drape and flatter every body type. His use of many colors in his fabric detail brings out the gorgeous skin tones, eye colors and highlights in every women's hair. The House of Pucci has been impressing the fashion world with it's stunning creations since 1949, and it continues to be one of the true staples of the Italian Fashion Market.
